What is a Thermomix?
For those not familiar with this fenomenal cooking gadget, I would start by describing it as an “intelligent cooking robot”. I couldn’t have found a better way to describe it, Thermomix can cook, boil, simmer, and stew. Chop and mince meat, nuts, herbs, and vegetables; blend, make yoghurt, mill rice, nuts and grains into flour. Grind coffee, sugar, and nuts; knead dough, whisk, grate, puree and, crush plus it can function as kettle, and a slow cooker.Thermomix can replace pretty much every kitchen gadget you own.The Thermomix is a very popular cooking appliance in Europe. For as long as I can remember, my mother had one in her kitchen, and so did my grandmother. When I got married, I bought one, and when I moved to the USA, I brought my European Thermomix attached to a huge, and ugly transformer that took most of my kitchen counter space. Despite the ton of Thermomix users not only in Europe, but around the World, and the almost 40 years of existence in the market, Thermomix arrived to the United States in 2016, and that is when I decided to buy my second one, and finally get rid of my huge and ugly electrical transformer.
For those who love cooking, this cooking robot is like having an extra pair of hands. It is perfect for beginners, and Chefs alike….but I’m not here to sell anything to you, I’m just trying to explain in this post what a Thermomix is, and what it does in terms of cooking as you will find that some of the recipes in my cooking blog provide “Thermomix Cooking directions”.If you happen to be interested in one of those “Thermomix recipes” , and you don’t have one, but you would like to cook the recipe via traditional cooking methods, please don’t hesitate to enquire about it, I would be more than glad to provide you with directions.
The Thermomix is not a “cheap” kitchen gadget, it is pricey, but so worth it. In my opinion, in the hands of an enthusiastic home cook or a professional, the machine will pay for itself.
